Welcome
Hi and welcome to the very start of my website. My name is Anne Pickering, I’m the creator of Mist n Dreams. From its initial days as a shop and clinic in Landsborough, Queensland to now. Here I share my love of being creative, from writing my debut fantasy novel soon to be released, to a mixture of arts and crafts. The creative outlet balances my over 20-year career as a Remedial Massage and Reiki Therapist. Juggling that with parenting, pets, the garden, walks in nature has been challenging and rewarding. Now with my children grown, and working only part time I have the latitude to explore my creativity as never before, thus this venture into new worlds.
Stream Reader Soon to be available!
Thanks to Ann, of Dettori Publishing all her support, assistance and knowledge, and her team.
It was when the first edits came back from the editor Daina Lindeman that it became real. To have a professional in her industry whom I haven’t met give such positive feedback was incredibly touching. The editing process itself, finding the errors, clarifying, correcting puntuation, was gratefully received and all with respecting and not changing my voice, rather enhancing it.
Then Daniela Catucci started her magic with illustrations and the cover design, she presented me with a couple of options, and it was WOW, it ‘s definitely happening. I was so impressed with her creative input and ability to capture the character of the Stream and Sarian the heroine of the story. But she didn’t stop with the first options she offered another and it blew me away, and here we have it...
Now Renee Bahr is bringing her skills to the project on internal design and formating it for the needs of online or print on demand availability, everything is coming together, with Ann orchestrating and seeing to all the many details that turn a self published novel into professional status.
Words from the Editor Daina Lindeman -
This novel unfolds like a dream, as Sarian embarks on a mission to free the Stream, a mystical, elemental force, from its entrapment. You materfully blur the boundary between fate and free will, anchoring the story in Sarian’s personal journey, and the prose is fluid and poetic, echoing the Stream itself. Sarian is a compelling protagonist, and her evolving relationship with the Stream feels both intimate and profound. The narrative explores the tension between knowledge and truth, showing how insight can simultaneously illuminate and burden. As Sarian gathers companions—each one carrying pieces of the puzzle—she must unravel the mystery of her past and face an uncertain future.
Wire Sculptures
Not the easiest medium (especially balancing in your lap while watching TV), but so SATISFYING, and broad in it’s creative potential.
Polymer and Crystal Creations
A fun medium especially for small sculptures, easily made at home.
